Managing Newsletter Post Order in Tent Apps

Overview

  1. Open the Tent Apps newsletter module where recent posts are displayed.
  2. To manually select posts, drag the post section into your newsletter layout.
  3. Select the desired posts and adjust display options, then click 'Insert Selected.'
  4. Rearrange selected posts by dragging them into the desired order.
  5. To change the post order throughout your website, go to the posts page and rearrange them using the arrows provided.
  6. Reload the calendar page to verify that the changes to post order are reflected correctly.
  7. Create a new email in MailPoet to check if the posts appear in the new order as configured.

Hey guys, I had a question about reordering or reorganizing your posts within your newsletter. So, if you've ever done a newsletter with Tent Apps before, you will know that this module right here, is going to show the five most recent, uhm, posts that are published in your website, within this, whatever category you have applied right here. Now, if you want a little bit more control over the organization of these posts. One way to control that would be, instead of using the automatic latest comment, or content, which is this, would be to, uhm, drag over the little post section. And, of course, it never wants to work correctly. There we go. Drag over the little post section, and then you manually tell which ones we want in there. Uhm, we can add in, let's add just these three. We can change the display options. Let's make this centered. And, that's all of that. Uhm, so you can change in a few things right here, but I'm just going to insert selected for right now. And then, we can go in and we can kind of reorganize it. So, like, this guy right here, if I click on this little arrow, I can drag it, and I can drop it to be below this announcement. So now we have that right there. Uhm, we also have this guy right here. Maybe I want him to be at the top. So, if I click on this little arrow, I can drag him up. So that is one option, uhm, but what I'm going to do, I'm going to undo all of that real quick. Okay, I deleted those, uhm, now we're back to the automatic latest content right here. So, one thing to keep in mind is, these are these right here are going to show in the order that they are on your post page. So, I have that open in another tab. And, you can see right here, there's, uhm, the Teacher Appreciation Week, the 40 Years of Service, and then, Discover the World of Art. So, we have the Teacher Appreciation, Years of Service, Discover the World of Art. But, we have an option where, you see these little arrows right here, we can change the order of these. The main kicker with that is, if you change the order right here, it is not going to just change for your newsletter. It is also going to change for your webpages, your homepage, your newspage, all of that. So that's one thing to keep in mind, but if you're okay with that, it's a very quick and easy way to change the order of your posts on the back end of your site. So I'm going to move these around a little bit. Let's go to posts. Let's put our 40 years of service. We can drag this one up right here. Let's make that one first. in there. And maybe I want this one to be second. So right now we have 40 years of service, Teacher Appreciation Week, and the Kona Ice Fundraiser. So first things first, I am going to go to the calendar page. I'm just going to reload this so that we can see the change on this part. All right. Now that has reloaded, I'm seeing the 40 years of service, teacher appreciation, and the cool-off. So let's double check. years of service, teacher appreciation, and the cool-off. So that change did go through on this page, um, but it'll also go through on MailPoet. So I'm gonna act like I'm creating a new email. I'm gonna click create, and then I'm going through the exact same steps that I normally go through, selecting my template, and then it should show those three first. So, 40 years, teacher appreciation, cool-off. So let's see what it came up with. Okay, so, Oh, this is the automatic latest content, showing me 40 years, celebrate teacher appreciation, and then the cool-off. So that is an easier way to reorganize rather than using this guy. Um, either way, just make sure that you know if you're gonna move stuff around on this page. It's changing everywhere. So just keep that in mind, but those are a few options for you.
